AMICONI VERONICA
Right after the completion of master MESCI, in July 2019, I was offered an internship at World Food Programme Headquarters in Rome in Internal Communications team, where I still work as Junior Consultant. MESCI’s programme has been essential to give me the necessary skills to be considered for this position, because it offered me the knowledge in International Development studies I was looking for. Through MESCI, I was able to broaden my economic background (I am graduated in International Economics) exploring the field of Gender studies, Environmental Economics, Inequality and poverty measurement studies, Rural development studies and Climate change. What was essential to my career development was also the experience of being the tutor of the master, along with two my colleagues, which brought me to develop MESCI’s website and the Facebook page, all communication activities that are now essential to my current work. It goes without saying, the relationships I nurtured during this year are now still with me, because I met many amazing people among students, staff and professors. Really speaking by heart, MESCI has been life-changing experience by many points of view and I can recommend it to everyone who wants to undertake a truly humanitarian/development career.
